Help & Answers
Frequently Asked Questions
Find clear answers to common questions about on-site callouts, repair feasibility, diagnostic fees, and data safety in London.
Service Methods & Appointments
How does your London computer repair service work?
We offer three flexible service options tailored to your situation: on-site home visits, workplace office callouts, and secure remote desktop support. For software issues, we can often log in remotely right away. For hardware faults, screen breaks, or Wi-Fi troubleshooting, our mobile technician visits your address with professional diagnostic tools.
Do you have a walk-in repair shop I can visit?
We operate as a mobile on-site and remote service-area business across Greater London. Rather than requiring you to dismantle your desktop or travel across town, our technicians come directly to you. If a complex repair requires extensive bench testing or soldering, we arrange secure collection and return.
How quickly can a technician attend my London home or office?
We schedule same-day and next-day appointments depending on route availability. Remote support sessions can typically begin within 15 to 30 minutes of your call.
What hours do you operate?
Our standard operating hours are Monday to Friday 08:30 to 18:30, and Saturday 09:00 to 17:00. Urgent out-of-hours or Sunday business emergency callouts can be scheduled by prior appointment.
Pricing, Diagnostics & Quotes
Do you charge a diagnostic fee?
For on-site visits, an initial diagnostic inspection fee applies to cover technician travel and methodical electrical/component testing. Once the fault is diagnosed, we provide a clear, itemised written quote for any parts and additional labour before proceeding.
What happens if my computer cannot be fixed or is not economical to repair?
If a machine has severe obsolete hardware or catastrophic motherboard failure where replacement parts exceed the value of a new PC, we explain this honestly. You only pay for the initial diagnostic time, and we can advise on transferring your data and licenses to a new computer.
Are parts included in your labour prices?
No. Replacement hardware (such as new SSDs, RAM kits, laptop screens, or power supplies) is quoted separately at competitive retail prices with manufacturer warranties. We never mark up parts unreasonably.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major debit and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) via secure mobile chip-and-pin/contactless terminals, bank transfers (BACS) for businesses, and cash. Invoices with itemised breakdowns are emailed immediately upon completion.
Data Privacy & Security
Is my personal data safe during a repair?
Yes. We strictly adhere to the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR principles. We never browse, copy, or distribute your personal documents or photos. When performing operating system reinstalls or drive upgrades, data safety is our highest priority.
Are your technicians insured and vetted?
Yes. Our technicians carry comprehensive Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance, and have clean DBS background checks for your complete peace of mind.
Will you need my Windows password?
To test drivers, check device manager, and verify that software functions correctly, we typically need to log in to your desktop. You are welcome to change your password before the visit or sit with the technician while work is carried out.
Remote IT Support
How secure is your remote desktop connection?
We utilize bank-grade 256-bit AES encrypted remote connection tools. Access is strictly one-time and requires your active permission and a unique 9-digit session code. You can watch every action on your screen, and as soon as the session closes, access is completely terminated.
Can you solve hardware problems remotely?
No. Remote support is designed for software, email, virus cleanup, and driver configurations. If your computer will not turn on or has physical hardware failure, an on-site visit is required.
