Terms & Conditions of Service
These terms govern computer repair, diagnostic servicing, on-site callouts, and remote IT support provided by Computer Repair IT in London.
Last Updated: October 2026
1. Service Agreement & Bookings
By requesting an on-site technician visit, bringing equipment for bench servicing, or initiating a remote support session with Computer Repair IT, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2. Diagnostic Assessment & Written Quotes
All on-site technician visits and bench inspections are subject to our agreed diagnostic fee. The diagnostic inspection covers the time, travel, and specialized electronic testing required to identify hardware or software faults.
Following diagnosis, we will provide an itemized written estimate detailing the necessary labour and replacement hardware costs. No additional work or parts ordering will proceed without your explicit approval.
3. Customer Responsibility for Data & Backups
While our technicians exercise all reasonable professional care and always attempt to safeguard user files, the customer is solely responsible for ensuring adequate, up-to-date backups of all critical personal or commercial data prior to any service work.
Computer hardware (particularly mechanical hard disk drives, solid-state drives, and flash media) may degrade unpredictably during stress testing or recovery attempts. Computer Repair IT accepts no liability for loss of data, corrupted databases, or software re-licensing fees arising from pre-existing storage drive failure.
4. Fragile & Pre-Damaged Equipment
Where devices are submitted with existing physical trauma (such as cracked glass panels, fractured chassis hinges, water/liquid ingress, or swollen lithium-ion batteries), disassembly may reveal further latent internal damage or cause brittle plastics to crack further. Our technicians will note visible pre-existing damage prior to opening equipment.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable UK law, Computer Repair IT's maximum total liability for any claim arising out of our services (whether in contract, tort, or negligence) shall be limited to the total amount paid by the customer for the specific service rendered. We shall not be liable for any indirect, special, or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of business opportunity, or business interruption.
6. Hardware Warranties & Supplied Parts
Brand-new hardware components supplied by us (such as SSDs, RAM, power supplies, and replacement screens) carry standard manufacturer warranties (typically 12 to 36 months depending on the brand). Our repair labour carries a 30-day workmanship guarantee covering the specific issue repaired.
7. Payment Terms
Payment is due immediately upon completion of the on-site visit or upon collection of the repaired device, unless credit account terms have been agreed in writing for approved commercial business accounts. We accept debit/credit cards, bank transfers (BACS), and cash. Invoices are provided electronically.
8. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
